Policy Brief

Effective Governance for a Just Zero Food Waste Transition

Reducing food loss and waste requires inclusive, transparent, and coordinated governance across the food system.

This Policy Brief provides evidence-based recommendations for EU Member States to foster non-punitive, incentive-driven frameworks, enhance accountability and digital transparency, and promote co-governance that supports a fair and effective transition towards the EU’s binding food waste reduction targets.
