Join the ZeroFLW Business Ecosystem and turn food loss & waste into a sustainable business

Good news for people with an interest in turning food waste into a sustainable business. The ZeroFLW Business Ecosystem is now open for organisations with commercial insight and has been created to discuss, and support spin-offs, innovative ideas, business opportunities and much more.

The group will have access to an online community to create synergies and interact with a wide range of stakeholders who share a common interest to learn and exchange information about the needs and solutions for FLW in the market and an opportunity for potential collaborations/ partnerships.

ZeroW is a €12 million EU project about systemic innovations for zero food waste, funded under the Green Deal call of the Horizon Programme 2020 (Grant Agreement no. 101036388).

The project directly addresses the challenge of food loss and waste by developing and testing a synergetic mix of innovations in real-life conditions, with the aim to deliver ambitious reductions at all stages of the food supply chain from pre-harvest to consumption.

Interested organisations with relevant backgrounds can now enrol to be part of the community, called the “ZeroFLW Business Ecosystem”.

F6S, a delivery partner of the ZeroW project will be leading this initiative.

"The goal of this ecosystem is to work as an interface to identify the right partners and project ideas that can go to the market, saving money and contributing to a greener way of life. With that in mind, we aim to attract people with knowledge from the food value chain that can contribute to the discussion about food loss and are interested in finding business opportunities, creating synergies and joining efforts around reducing FLW.” - F6S Project Manager, Lina Silveira.

Taking part in this ecosystem group could be relevant for those who want to:
  1. Gain access to an online community to create synergies and interact with a wide range of stakeholders;
  2. Learn and exchange information about the needs and solutions for FLW in the market;
  3. Be part of an environment that benefits the engagement of investors/potential business partners for commercial/business opportunities;
This event and the LinkedIn group will be managed and led by F6S, a European SME and the largest social network for startups in the world. With over 3.4M profiles in the community and more than 1,300,000 tech startups. F6S currently supports the majority of the startup ecosystem through deal flow/applications, job listings, free services, communication forms, technology transfer infrastructure, and other areas.

Practical information

Enrolled members will be part of a private LinkedIn group to interact and network with each other in this space. Information will be shared about FLW and specifically; FLW business/commercial interest, open calls, financing opportunities, events, hackathons, news about European FLW, and national and regional interest.

F6S will host regular online meetings, and the frequency of the meetings will depend on the availability of the members but these are expected to be held bimonthly.

The time expected from the participants depends on the level of engagement each member is investing. As a minimum, we would expect members to engage approximately 1 hr./per mth.

The first round of registrations to become a member of the LinkedIn Commercial Ecosystem Group will be open until 30th November. You can apply here.
